Mathematician’s House
Hammersmith, London
A ground-floor refurbishment and extension in Hammersmith, reworking a previously constrained plan to improve spatial clarity and bring light deep into the interior. The project combines a pared-back architectural language with carefully crafted bespoke elements, including stained glass panels by Flora Jamieson and a geometric mosaic floor.
The design responds to the client’s background in mathematics and their experience of living in Copenhagen, drawing on principles of clarity, order and restraint. Within this calm framework, moments of colour and pattern are introduced deliberately, adding character and depth without disrupting the overall coherence of the space.
